- Windows, macOS and software updates on every device
- Antivirus and firewall settings
- Your router and Wi-Fi, including guest networks and default passwords
- Who has admin rights, and old accounts for people who have left
- Backups: whether they run, whether they could survive ransomware, and whether they restore
- Remote access and file sharing settings
