Model numbers: Drobo 5D, Drobo 5N, Drobo 5C, Drobo B810n
Drobo units use their own BeyondRAID format, so drives from a Drobo can't simply be read in another machine. Drobo products are no longer supported by their maker, so a failed unit usually can't be replaced.

Before you bring it in
Don't rebuild, re-initialise or swap disks around. Label each drive with its bay number, power the unit down and bring all the drives in. A rebuild onto a failing disk is the most common way RAID data is lost for good.

Larger NAS units and RAID 6 or RAID 10 volumes are priced like RAID recovery.
