Model numbers: 1703, 1704, 1705, 1832, 1834, 1835
The Surface Book has a detachable screen with a second battery and optional graphics card in the keyboard base. The connection between the two halves is a common point of failure.
Which model do you have?
1703, 1704 and 1705 are original Surface Book models. 1832, 1834 and 1835 are Surface Book 2 models. The number is on the underside of the keyboard base.
